What brings Katherine joy at Cunningham House?  “The residents, staff, volunteers and visitors – getting to know them, spending time with them and hearing about their fascinating lives and views.  They are so positive, they’re amazing!”

Cunningham House has been a long-standing client of Katherine’s catering business, which she established over 20 years ago.  Residents, volunteers, sponsors, friends and guests have enjoyed Katherine’s expertise at many lunches, celebratory dinners and parties!  She remains a caterer for private and corporate clients when she isn’t working at Cunningham House, building upon an earlier career which combined administration with cooking and catering in a range of private and professional settings.

Katherine has a range of tasks as our Office Manager.  She responds to new resident enquiries, and handles the administration and financial tasks involved with helping the House Manger keep Cunningham House running smoothly.  Happily for staff and residents, Katherine is a “relief chef” and provides appetising meals for everyday or special occasions as needed.  She supports the work of the House Committee, taking minutes at meetings and helping to move decisions forward.  Katherine’s newest responsibility is enabling our marketing efforts, so that more people can learn about the House and all we have to offer.  Katherine Barker lives locally with her husband and 2 adult children.
