Our newest resident at Cunningham House is a fantastc lady who enjoys a very compettve scrabble game, writng leters to her family and friends and a good old nater. Her sunny outlook on life is admirable as she has very poor eyesight due to advanced age-related macular degeneraton. She perseveres with scrabble using a large print board and spotlight, and writes her leters by guesswork, guided by special writng paper. For her 95th birthday, she received an echo dot so that she can simply ask Alexa to play audiobooks or music. Having had great fun fnding out what Alexa would play, her daughter got a phone call that evening…”I’ve forgoten her name, how do I ask her to stop?!” The dot now has a name tag….just in case!
