HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!

In June this year the country will celebrate the seventieth year of the Queen’s reign, on
the date of her coronation in 1953. So why are we celebrating in 2022? Did you know
that the Princess Elizabeth became Queen in the early hours of February 6th, 1952, on
the death of her father, King George V1. So the day of her accession to the Throne is
actually a very sad day for Her Majesty, as it is the anniversary of the death of someone
she loved very much. That is why we always celebrate her jubilees on
the date of her coronation but in the anniversary year of
her accession.
